Quality Control Amendment Order 2023 for Lauric Acid, Acid oil, Palm Fatty Acid, Rice Bran Fatty Acid, Coconut Fatty Acid & Hydrogenated Rice Bran Fatty Acid

The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has issued amendments to the Quality Control Orders for various chemicals, including Lauric Acid, Acid Oil, Palm Fatty Acid, Rice Bran Fatty Acid, Coconut Fatty Acid, and Hydrogenated Rice Bran Fatty Acid. These amendments, known respectively as the Lauric Acid (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2023; Acid Oil (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2023; Palm Fatty Acid (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2023; Rice Bran Fatty Acid (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2023; Coconut Fatty Acid (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2023; and Hydrogenated Rice Bran Fatty Acid (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2023, were initially set to come into force upon their publication in the Official Gazette. However, an extension has been granted, and these amendments will now come into effect on the 24th of April, 2024. As stipulated, any violation of the provisions outlined in these Orders will be subject to penalties under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016. This extension allows additional time for compliance with the stringent quality standards set forth by the Bureau of Indian Standards.
