What is the LMPC Certificate?
The LMPC Certificate is a mandatory certification requirement for all pre-packaged commodities before being sold in the Indian consumer market. The certificate is issued by the Legal Metrology Department to ensure that the product packaging displays accurate declarations regarding quantity, weight, price, and manufacturer details. It is governed under the Legal Metrology Act, 2009. According to the Legal Metrology Act 2009 and the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules 2011, the LMPC certificate is needed to ensure adherence to labelling, weights, and measuring regulations.
