ISI / BIS Certification for Wrought aluminium and aluminium alloy bars, rods, tubes, sections, plates and sheets for electrical applications

Wrought aluminium and aluminium alloy bars, rods, tubes, sections, plates, and sheets for electrical applications have been included in the mandatory ISI Certification Scheme under IS 5082:1998. This product cannot be exported/imported or sold in the Indian consumer market without ISI Mark imprinted.

1.1 This standard specifies requirements for wrought aluminium and aluminium alloy bars, rods, tubes, sections, plates, and sheets for electrical applications, prescribing their chemical composition, mechanical properties, and electrical resistivity/conductivity.
1.1.1 This standard is applicable to:

• aextruded bars and rods above 6 mm diameter; extruded angles, channels, other sections, and profiles including tubes, hollow sections of thickness, 3 mm and above.
• rolled - plates, sheets of 3 mm and above thickness.
