In many homes around the world, domestic gas stoves made to run on piped natural gas (PNG) are a need. These stoves, which use natural gas as a fuel source because of its clean burning characteristics, are designed with the express purpose of offering a practical and effective way to cook. The quick and accurate control that PNG gas stoves provide cooks is one of its main benefits. Quick and accurate flame intensity adjustments enable cooks to precisely control the cooking temperature. Gas burners are perfect for a variety of cooking methods, such as boiling, frying, and sautéing, because of this control.
The safety regulations and technical specifications for residential gas stoves intended for use with piped natural gas (PNG) are outlined in IS 17153:2019. It is imperative that manufacturers in the gas appliance business comply with this requirement. It guarantees that strict safety precautions are taken into account throughout the design and production of these gadgets. By doing this, the chance of gas leaks, fires, and explosions is decreased, protecting customer property and lives. Producers that follow these guidelines create superior stoves that are dependable, long-lasting, and less likely to break down. This standard has been divided into three sections for ease of use, including:
Note: The obligatory ISI Mark Certification must be obtained by manufacturers of residential gas stoves intended for use with piped natural gas (PNG).
In order to protect customers and advance product reliability in the kitchen, ISI Certification is a necessary measure to guarantee that household gas stoves for use with PNG adhere to strict technical criteria and safety rules established by the Bureau of Indian criteria (BIS). By guaranteeing adherence to accepted technical standards, this certification also helps customers feel more at ease since they can cook on gas stoves that are dependable, effective, and safe.
Indian Standards Institute, or ISI was renamed the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) in 1987. The official mark that the Bureau of Indian Standards provides for manufacturers of various goods is the ISI Mark. It is used to indicate compliance with Indian standards (IS) set by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and has been used as a conformity marking for industrial products. Manufacturers received permission from BIS to use the ISI Mark on items that comply with relevant Indian requirements through the product certification program.
Only manufacturers (domestic or foreign) who produce the finished product will be awarded ISI Certification. This will not be given to any product importers, traders, dealers, or distributors.

Regular Procedure
With the possible exception of cases deemed "All India first," which might take up to 180 days, the licensing procedure is expected to be finished in 120 days. This timeline starts on the day the application is received, assuming that at different points in time the documentation, unit assessment, and product conformance are all deemed acceptable.
Step 1: Manufacturing Unit Customization in Compliance with Applicable Indian Standards
