The Bureau of Indian Standards has introduced Quality Control Orders affecting 24 categories of footwear products. These regulations fall under the All-Rubber and Polymeric Material and Components (Quality Control) Order, 2022, as well as the Leather and Other Materials (Quality Control) Order, 2022. The implementation of these orders is scheduled to commence on July 1, 2023. Certain products have undergone recent revisions to their standards as listed in the document. Manufacturers producing these items in accordance with the updated specifications will receive an additional grace period of six months to comply, extending their deadline to December 31, 2023.
