BIS Date Extension Order 2023 for Specification for Ferronickel

The Ministry of Steel has announced an extension for the enforcement of the Specification for Ferronickel under the Steel & Steel Products (Quality Control) Order 2020, originally dated December 22, 2020, and subsequently updated on November 1, 2022. The date for mandatory compliance with the relevant Indian Standard has now been extended by six months, setting the new enforcement deadline to July 23, 2023. This extension provides additional time for stakeholders to align with the quality standards mandated by the Bureau of Indian Standards. Non-compliance with these orders will result in penalties as stipulated under the BIS Act, 2016, underscoring the critical importance of adhering to these regulatory requirements to ensure high standards within the industry.
