This notification is officially called the Refined Nickel (Quality Control) Order, 2025.

1. Refined Nickel must comply with the prescribed Indian Standard (IS)
2. The product must carry the BIS Standard Mark (ISI Mark)
3. BIS certification is mandatory under Scheme-I of Schedule-II of the BIS (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018
4. BIS will act as the certifying and enforcing authority
5. Non-compliance may attract penalties under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016

Note: The latest version of the Indian Standard, including any amendments notified by BIS from time to time, shall be applicable.

Exemptions to this QCO

This Quality Control Order shall not apply to goods or articles meant for export.

What is the Date of Implementation?

The order shall come into force after 6 months from the date of publication of this notification.

Manufacturers and suppliers must complete BIS compliance within this period to continue supplying Refined Nickel in India.
