Introduction to the BIS Amendment Notification for Safes and Valve Fittings for SCBA and SCUBA
Indian Standards are updated by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) through the Department of Consumer Affairs periodically so that products always keep pace with the changing safety, performance, and technological demands. BIS has informed some changes in the already existing Indian Standards as per Rule 15 (1) of the Bureau of Indian Standards Rules, 2018.
Previously, the standards could be applied in their original form. This notification, dated 14 June 2024, has concluded the amendments to several standards made by BIS, and has also defined a transition period within which the products that meet the old versions could remain in force.
