Quality Control Order 2023 for Flux Cored Solder Wire

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has enacted the "Flux Cored Solder Wire (Quality Control) Order, 2023", to ensure high-quality standards for flux-cored solder wire products in India. This Order, set to become effective six months from its publication in the Official Gazette, requires that all flux-cored solder wire goods comply with the Indian Standard IS 1921:2005 and bear the ISI Mark under a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards. This adherence must follow Scheme-1 of Schedule-II of the BIS (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018. The Order exempts goods manufactured domestically for export. For micro-enterprises, as defined by the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006, the Order will come into force twelve months from the publication date. For small enterprises, it will come into force nine months from the same date. The BIS is designated as the certifying and enforcing authority for flux-cored solder wire products. Any violations of the provisions set forth in this Order will be punishable under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016, ensuring strict compliance and maintaining the integrity of product standards in the industry.
