Introduction to the BIS Order for Polyethylene Woven Sacks

The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has recently issued an Extension Order for multiple Indian Standards that are applicable to polyethylene and polypropylene woven sacks that are used across fertilizer packaging, cement packaging, as well as logistics applications. These standards play an important role in ensuring strength, durability, as well as absolutely safe handling during the storage, transportation, and distribution of bulk materials.

The recent BIS extension has been introduced in order to ensure continued regulatory oversight while providing industry stakeholders sufficient time to align with compliance requirements under the applicable BIS standards.
