Quality Control Amendment Order 2023 for 100 Percent Polyester Spun Grey and White Yarn

The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has recently issued the 100 Percent Polyester Spun Grey and White Yarn (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2023, which will be effective from July 3, 2023. This amendment mandates that all 100 Percent Polyester Spun Grey and White Yarn produced or traded in India must strictly conform to the applicable Indian Standard specifications and prominently display the ISI mark. Manufacturers are required to obtain a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards under Scheme-I of Schedule-II of the BIS (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018. The new regulation explicitly prohibits the production, trading, stocking, or importation of 100 Percent Polyester Spun Grey and White Yarn that does not bear the ISI Mark. Non-compliance with these regulations will lead to penalties as stipulated in the relevant legislation. This regulatory update aims to uphold and ensure the quality and uniformity of 100 Percent Polyester Spun Grey and White Yarn available in the market.
