Extension Order for n-Butyl Acrylate & Toluene

The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has recently introduced the n-Butyl Acrylate (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2023, and the Toluene (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2023, which will come into force on December 22, 2023. These amendments impose stringent requirements on the manufacturing and trading of n-Butyl Acrylate and Toluene in India, mandating adherence to specific Indian Standards and the prominent display of the ISI mark. Compliance requires manufacturers to obtain a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards under Scheme-I of Schedule-II of the BIS (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018. The amendments also strictly prohibit the production, trading, stocking, or importation of n-Butyl Acrylate and Toluene without the ISI mark, with penalties for non-compliance detailed in the relevant legislation. These regulatory measures aim to ensure high quality and consistency in n-Butyl Acrylate and Toluene in the Indian market, enhancing consumer protection and fortifying the industry's credibility.
