Quality Control Second Amendment Order 2023 for Toluene

The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers issued the Toluene (Quality Control) Second Amendment Order, 2023, on December 19, 2023, to further amend the existing Toluene (Quality Control) Order, 2023. This amended order mandates that Toluene products adhere to the relevant Indian Standards and bear the ISI Mark, which is granted under a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards as per Scheme-1 of Schedule-II of the BIS (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018. The amended provisions will be enforced starting December 22, 2024. This amendment underscores the Ministry's dedication to ensuring that Toluene products in the market meet stringent quality standards, thereby enhancing product safety and reliability. Non-compliance with the order will result in penalties as outlined in the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
