BIS Quality Control Order for Geo Textiles

The Ministry of Textiles has introduced the Geo Textiles (Quality Control) Order, 2022, which will be enforced 180 days after its publication in the official Gazette. This Order applies to all specified products but excludes those intended for export. All covered products must conform to relevant Indian Standards and display the ISI Mark, obtained through a license issued by the Bureau as per Scheme-I of Schedule-II under the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018. Non-compliance with this Order will result in penalties as per the provisions of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016. This regulatory measure aims to ensure that Geo Textiles meet specified quality standards, enhancing consumer protection and reinforcing industry credibility.
