Quality Control Order 2023 for Agro Textiles

The Ministry of Textiles, through a notification dated 27th September 2023, has introduced the "Agro Textiles (Quality Control) Order, 2023," aiming to regulate and uphold stringent quality standards for agro-textile products in India. This Order mandates that all agro-textile goods must prominently display the ISI Mark, signifying compliance with specified standards obtained through a license issued by the Bureau of Indian Standards. The BIS has been designated as the authoritative body responsible for certifying and enforcing compliance with these standards. Effective from 1st April 2024, this Order ensures that agro-textile manufacturers adhere strictly to prescribed quality benchmarks to maintain product integrity and safety. Any violation of the provisions outlined in this Order will be subject to penalties as per the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016, ensuring accountability and adherence to established quality norms across the agro-textile industry in India.
