Quality Control Amendment Order 2023 for Polyurethanes and p-Xylene

The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has issued an amendment to the Quality Control Order for Polyurethanes and p-Xylene, 2023, known as the Polyurethanes (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2023, and the p-Xylene (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2023. This order mandates that both Polyurethanes and p-Xylene must adhere to the corresponding Indian Standards established by the Bureau of Indian Standards. These products are required to bear the ISI Mark under a license from BIS, in accordance with Scheme-I of Schedule-II of the BIS (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018. The enforcement of this order will commence on March 19, 2024. It is important to note that this order does not apply to goods or articles intended for export. Any individual found contravening the provisions of this order will be subject to penalties under the relevant Act, reinforcing the necessity of compliance with these quality standards.
