Quality Control Amendment Order 2023 for Polyethylene Material for Moulding and Extrusion

The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has introduced the Polyethylene Material for Moulding and Extrusion (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2023. Effective from October 3, 2023, this order mandates that all Polyethylene Material for Moulding and Extrusion must conform to the applicable Indian Standard and prominently display the ISI mark. Manufacturers must obtain a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards under Scheme-I of Schedule-II of the BIS (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018. The production, trading, stocking, or importation of Polyethylene Material for Moulding and Extrusion without the ISI Mark is strictly prohibited. Any breach of these regulations will incur penalties as per the provisions of the relevant Act. This regulatory measure is aimed at ensuring the quality and uniformity of Polyethylene Material for Moulding and Extrusion in the marketplace, thereby enhancing consumer safety and bolstering industry credibility.
