Quality Control Amendment Order 2023 for Polyester Continuous Filament Fully Drawn Yarn

The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has introduced the Polyester Continuous Filament Fully Drawn Yarn (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2023. It shall come into force on July 3, 2023. This mandate stipulates that all Polyester Continuous Filament Fully Drawn Yarn must adhere strictly to the relevant Indian Standard and prominently feature the ISI mark. Manufacturers are required to obtain a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards under Scheme-I of Schedule-II of the BIS (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018. The production, trading, stocking, or importation of Polyester Continuous Filament Fully Drawn Yarn lacking the ISI Mark is explicitly prohibited. Violations of these provisions will result in penalties as outlined in the pertinent Act. This regulatory initiative is intended to uphold the quality and consistency of Polyester Continuous Filament Fully Drawn Yarn within the market, thereby advancing consumer protection and reinforcing the credibility of the industry.
