Quality Control Amendment Order 2023 for Nickel

The Ministry of Mines issued the Nickel (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2023, on November 30, 2023, to further amend the existing Nickel (Quality Control) Order, 2023. This amended order mandates that nickel products adhere to the relevant Indian Standards and bear the ISI Mark, which is granted under a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards as per Scheme-1 of Schedule-II of the BIS (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018. The amended provisions will be enforced starting June 01, 2024. This amendment underscores the Ministry's dedication to ensuring that Nickel products in the market meet stringent quality standards, thereby enhancing product safety and reliability. Non-compliance with the order will result in penalties as outlined in the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
