Extension Order for ABS, Polycarbonate, Vinyl Chloride Monomer & Ethylene Dichloride

The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, has announced amendments to the Quality Control Orders for four chemical products: Acrylonitrile-Butadiene Styrene (ABS), Polycarbonate, Vinyl Chloride Monomer, and Ethylene Dichloride. These amendments set new implementation dates for the quality control standards of these chemicals. The revised enforcement dates are as follows:

Acrylonitrile-Butadiene Styrene (ABS) will be enforced by June 12, 2023.

Polycarbonate, Vinyl Chloride Monomer, and Ethylene Dichloride will all have their standards implemented by March 12, 2024.

This extension ensures that all stakeholders have adequate time to comply with the updated quality standards. Non-compliance with these orders will result in penalties as outlined under the BIS Act, 2016, highlighting the importance of adhering to these regulatory requirements to maintain industry quality standards.
