Introduction to the Methods of Tests for Plywood

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) periodically revises Indian Standards in order to ensure that testing methods remain aligned with evolving industry practices as well as quality expectations. One such important standard is IS 1734 (Part 4):1983, which specifies the Methods of Test for Plywood, particularly focusing on the Determination of Glue Shear Strength, which is mainly an essential parameter influencing the structural integrity as well as performance of plywood products.

In accordance with Rule 15(1) of the Bureau of Indian Standards Rules, 2018, BIS has issued a notification establishing Amendment No. 4 to this standard.
