Issue Date: 24-05-2023

The Ministry of Textiles has recently issued the Geo Textiles (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2022, which extends the enforcement date for Geo Textiles to October 7, 2023. This order mandates strict adherence to the relevant Indian Standards, requiring the prominent display of the ISI Mark. Manufacturers must obtain a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards under Scheme-I of Schedule-II, in accordance with the BIS (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018. Failure to comply with these regulations could result in penalties as outlined in the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
