4. The Bureau of Indian Standards will act as the certifying and enforcing authority
5. Any violation of this Order will be punishable under the BIS Act, 2016

Exemptions to this Order

This Draft Order shall not apply to gas welding equipment manufactured domestically only for export purposes.

The proposed implementation timeline under this Draft BIS Order is:

• General manufacturers (other than micro and small):
  6 months from the date of publication in the Official Gazette
• Small enterprises:
  9 months from the date of publication
• Micro enterprises:
  12 months from the date of publication
